Alan Caruba
Alan Caruba is the founder of The National Anxiety Center, a clearinghouse for information about "scare campaigns," begun in 1990 initially to debunk environmental claims but which has since expanded to include many other topics such as education, immigration, and Islam. Caruba began his professional career as a working journalist and, since the 1970s, has been a public relations counselor. He is the author of several books and has written numerous magazine articles over the years.

R.A. Hawkins
Richard Hawkins was born in Aurora, Colorado and grew up in Littleton, Colorado in a quiet little neighborhood nobody has ever heard of called Columbine Knolls. He has been married to the same woman for twenty-six years, and worked for the same aerospace company for twenty-eight. His primary interests over the years have been his family, sociology, mastering his survival skills, windsurfing, music, politics, raising wolves, art of all types, mycology, perma-culture, archeological anomalies, geo-politics and staying gainfully employed; not necessarily in that order. He often describes himself as a separate subspecies of human – ‘Eclecticus-Iconoclastimus’. His primary driving force is his unwavering belief that as sovereign citizens we are each responsible not only for our own beliefs and actions, but where those beliefs and actions take us in life: That the truly intelligent person learns to determine what the consequences might be for our beliefs and actions and then acts accordingly. Our individual actions always affect far more than we can imagine. R.A. Hawkins is the author of "Through Eyes of Shiva," available via Amazon.com. More of Mr. Hawkins' commentaries can be found on his web site, Entropical Paradise.

Jonathan David Morris
Jonathan David Morris is a political writer based in New Jersey. A strong believer in small government, JDM often takes aim at oppressive taxes, entitlements, and laws, writing about incompetence at the highest levels of culture and government. Catch his weekly ramblings on his web site.

Rep. Ron Paul Congressman Ron Paul of Texas enjoys a national reputation as the premier advocate for liberty in politics today. Dr. Paul is the leading spokesman in Washington for limited constitutional government, low taxes, free markets, and a return to sound monetary policies based on commodity-backed currency. He is known among both his colleagues in Congress and his constituents for his consistent voting record in the House of Representatives: Dr. Paul never votes for legislation unless the proposed measure is expressly authorized by the Constitution. In the words of former Treasury Secretary William Simon, Dr. Paul is the "one exception to the Gang of 535" on Capitol Hill.

Frank Salvato
is the managing editor for The New Media Journal. He serves at the Executive Director of the Basics Project, a non-profit, non-partisan, 501(C)(3) research and education initiative. His pieces are regularly featured in over 100 publications both nationally and internationally. He has appeared on The O'Reilly Factor, and is a regular guest on The Right Balance with Greg Allen on the Accent Radio Network, as well as an
occasional guest on numerous radio shows coast to coast. His organization, Basics Project, is partnered in producing the first-ever national symposium series on the threat of radical Islamist terrorism. His pieces have been recognized by the House International Relations Committee and the Japan
Center for Conflict. Mr. Salvato is available for public speaking
engagements.

Nancy Salvato
Nancy Salvato is the President of The Basics Project, a non-profit, non-partisan research and educational project whose mission is to promote the education of the American public on the basic elements of relevant political, legal and social issues important to our country. Iraq: Is it a War or a Battle?

The political theatre being played out in Congress and the White House cannot disguise the fact that our adventure in Iraq has been a succession of blunders and the only question is how and when we shall make our exit?

In his book, “The Occupation of Iraq: Winning the War, Losing the Peace”, Ali A. Allawi, who spent two and a half years as a minister in the transitional governments that followed the invasion, writes, “At the end of the Governing Council’s life, I could see the tell-tale signs of disintegration—both in the incoherence of the American ‘project’ in Iraq, and in the utter mediocrity, incompetence and venality of the new political order.”

The U.S. has been “defeated”, not by al Qaeda or the “insurgents”, but by the ancient tribalism of the Middle East, the vast religious schism between Sunni and Shiite, and by having no insight whatever regarding the role corruption plays in all areas of Middle East governance. Read the rest...

Self Immolation
(Dhimmicrats Don’t Get it)

As I watch this nation reap the rewards of another Democrat victory I wonder: What did everyone expect? Who are these people that vote for self destruction? Certainly the liberals represent some strange and demented fraction of our society. I haven’t heard anyone talking about secession lately so maybe my idea of throwing certain states out of the Union might just be catching on. Who knows?

Now that the liberals are on the path that I knew they would pursue I think it’s time to say some of what I’ve wanted to say. Idiots shouldn’t be allowed to vote. There I said it. I feel so much better. Read the rest...

Cho Seung-Whatever

I think I’ve seen roughly 800 arrangements and spellings for the name of the kid who killed 32 people at Virginia Tech last week. I don’t really care which version is accurate. I’m going with “Cho Seung-Hui.”

The thing that gets me about this guy is how well he reflects every neurosis we share as a society. Everyone thinks they know what Cho represented. And everyone thinks everyone else is wrong. Read the rest...

Rep. Ron Paul (R-TX)

Security and Liberty
April 23, 2007

The senseless and horrific killings last week on the campus of Virginia Tech University reinforced an uneasy feeling many Americans experienced after September 11th: namely, that government cannot protect us. No matter how many laws we pass, no matter how many police or federal agents we put on the streets, a determined individual or group still can cause great harm. Perhaps the only good that can come from these terrible killings is a reinforced understanding that we as individuals are responsible for our safety and the safety of our families. Read the rest...

It is Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil

I find it difficult to begin this piece of writing, an undertaking prompted by an article about the Virginia Tech memorial. I’ve already surmised what I end up writing will leave me exposed to a flood of e mailed rage. Still, I am compelled to tackle this matter because there is something that needs to be aired. Here begins my next Tsunami, this time an attempt to distinguish between good and evil in the context of terror and terrorism. Read the rest...
