Our country's founders
placed a high value on education. It was their determination that only a familiarity with history and government machinations by citizens at large could prevent tyranny by an elite governing party. Further, they knew that only educated men and women could fuel an economy.

Lady Liberty is most concerned
over a public education system that places less value on knowledge than it does on self-esteem, and that teaches such intangibles as "diversity" while ignoring constantly falling math and science scores. Lady Liberty does not condone intolerance, but she is of the firm belief that it is ignorance of history and accomplishment that causes bigotry, and that education of history and accomplishment is the solution to the problem. She also knows that the best way for a child to feel good about himself has nothing to do with praise received regardless of action, but rather with pride in praise received as the result of reaching an achievable - but not easy to reach - goal.

In an effort to further real learning
and genuine scholarship, Lady Liberty provides resources on this page that will enable teachers and homeschoolers to obtain lesson plans and other classroom resources for a variety of subjects; that will help students do research for assignments; and that will be helpful to anyone of any age who wishes to expand his or her base of knowledge.

Music students, their teachers, and parents will all find much of value at Carlson's Courier. Lessons, practice tips, and much more are available.

The Columbia Education Center features lesson plans (over 600, for all age groups and in all subjects), web activities, and teacher resources.

Congress Link was eveloped to assist teachers in developing lesson plans related to Congress and the federal government.

A wide variety of free online lesson plans are offered via the Constitutional Rights Foundation. Themes range from world to regional matters, and include topics as widely varying as terrorism and separation of church and state.

Education Planet is a portal site that educators can employ to locate educator-approved resources and services. The site claims over 100,000 sites, lessons, supplies and more are accessible through their pages.

Education World: The Educator's Best Friend

Informational categories at Education World include Curriculum Now, Lesson Planning, Technology in the Classroom, and more. Free lesson plans are available as is a search engine containing 500,000 web resources.

Students will find Eliana's Homework Helpers to be a source for links to help with assignments and research for all school subjects along with craft ideas and more. The site also offers an ESL segment - English as a Second Language - that allows students to practice their English skills with interactive quizzes and worksheets.

The Flag of the United States website provides a fascinating history of the flags used as emblems for the American Colonies and the United States of America, including the Gadsden "Don't Tread on Me" flag used by many during the Revolutionary War. Illustrations and complete, easy-to-understand explanations make this a great American history resource site.

4aClue was created as a place to learn about Old Glory and the history of this great symbol of our nation. The site also includes the ability for you to send a card to thank those you see flying this symbol and to remind those who are not doing so properly of their error. You will also find information on caring for, displaying, and retiring our flag.

The Heritage Foundation offers a wide range of helpful information including current events, educational materials and resources, and a calendar of upcoming educational events. Recent reports and publications are also available through the site.

Heritage's Study Guide to Constitutional Government includes the Federalist Papers and the constitutions of other countries, as well as the U.S. Constitution and writings by Thomas Jefferson.

Lesson to Go is a service of the Minnesota Center for Community Legal Education, and features lessons plans involving the American justice system.

The NASA Education Program provides teachers and students of all ages with resources for topics ranging from technology to history to the sciences. (See also Science @ NASA, below.)

Math Goodies is a free educational site featuring interactive math lessons, homework help, worksheets, puzzles, and more.

The National Archives & Records Administration's Digital Classroom site provides sources, resources, activities, and training for educators regarding important documents such as various treaties, the Constitution, the Civil Rights Act, and much more.

The National Center for Constitutional Studies offers resources for home schoolers, charter schools, and Americans who simply want to learn more about the Constitution and related documents and principles.

The New York Times Learning Network Teacher Connections

The New York Times Learning Network offers lesson plans and resources for classes in American history, civics, math and economics, fine arts, geography, science and technology, and more.

NASA maintains a variety of educational sites, many of which logically focus specifically on the space program. Science @ NASA, however, covers a wide-range of science-related current events with links to details on each. Visitors can also subscribe to several free newsletters, with focuses on current science, science stories and activities for all ages, and lesson plans and classroom activities for educators and homeschoolers.

Site offers various fun and educational crafts projects as well as a "teacher's corner" with lesson plans for all ages. Sponsored by Nestlé, it's no surprise there's also a cooking segment kids will also enjoy.
