Lady Liberty currently has a limited privacy policy
that applies to her visitors. It is not that she is not in favor of privacy; in fact, the truth is quite the contrary. She does not have a complete privacy policy at this time for the simple reason that she collects no data whatsoever from her website visitors (a small cookie, which expires with the end of the visit, is collected by her third-party hit counters solely for the purposes of incrementation; there are also a couple of links that collect cookies upon page load, but all can be refused without any effect on your ability to view her pages).

Submissions to Lady Liberty's Constitution Clearing House
will be handled in the following manner:

"Your View" Essays - writer's online identity and e-mail address only will be publicly posted; should Lady Liberty ever learn a writer's offline identity, such information will be kept entirely to herself.

E-Mail to Lady Liberty - though no online transmission is truly secure, Lady Liberty does not post (at this time) the complete or partial content of any e-mails to her; she plans to add a "Visitor Comments" page at some time in the future for select e-mail comments, but will not post such comments without permission from the writer. The exceptions are e-mails sent specifically in response to an "Our View" or "Your View" essay (writer may be identified) or those which convey an award (writer will not be identified other than as a representative of said award).

Lady Liberty does accept and maintain limited personal data
consisting of names (a pseudonym may be used) and e-mail addresses of visitors who wish to join a mailing list. She assures participants that those addresses will be used solely for the purposes of the mailing list, and that even that limited information will not be provided to any third party (outside the mailing program provider, which stores the information on a secure server) under any circumstance within her control. In the event Lady Liberty exercises her option to conduct onsite opinion polls, the only information that will be collected and/or archived will be the results of the poll.

This privacy policy will be updated and posted
at such time as mailing lists, opinion polls, or any similar features are added to Lady Liberty's Constitution Clearing House. Notice of any revisions to the privacy policy will be prominently displayed on the Lady Liberty's Constitution Clearing House home page.
