Privacy Policy

Lady Liberty's Constitution House currently has only a limited privacy policy.

It's not that I'm not in favor of privacy; in fact, the truth is quite the contrary. There's not an extensive privacy policy at this time for the simple reason that I collect no data whatsoever from Website visitors (a small cookie, which expires with the end of the visit, is collected by third-party hit counters solely for the purposes of incrementation; there are also a couple of links that collect cookies upon page load, but all can be refused without any effect on your ability to view pages witih this Website).

Submissions and Correspondence

Submissions and emails involving Lady Liberty and Lady Liberty's Constitution Clearing House will be handled in the following manner:

  • "Your View" Essays: Writer's online identity and email address (as provided by the writer) only will be publicly posted; If I ever learn a writer's offline identity, location, or other personal details, I'll keep such information to myself.
  • email to Lady Liberty: Though no online transmission is truly secure, I don't post emails for public consumption. Excerpts may be posted (as part of an Our View commentary, for example), but writers will not be identified.
  • Opinion Polls: The only information that will be collected and/or archived here will be the results of the poll. The third party provider does collect cookie data (required for the poll to work properly). I'd recommend visitors who wish to participate accept cookies temporarily and then delete them before leaving the site.
  • Online Visitor Comments: There is currently no mechanism here for live comments. One may be added in the future, but notice will be given on the home page and any necessary changes to the Privacy Policy detailed here.

Lady Liberty's Constitution Clearing House does accept and/or maintain limited personal data.

Personal information consisting of names (a pseudonym may be used) and email addresses of visitors who wish to join a mailing list is collected. I assure participants that those addresses will be used solely for the purposes of the mailing list, and that even that limited information will not be provided to any third party (outside the mailing program provider which stores the information on a secure server) under any circumstance within my control.

This privacy policy may be updated at any time as warranted.

Notice of any revision to the Privacy Policy will be announced on the home page, and detailed here.
