This Week
February 20 Happy Presidents' Day! News headlines have been updated and, sadly, there's not much good news to report today...
February 19 Remember when "the sky's the limit" meant unbounded opportunity? Sadly, it might now mean just what it says. See this week's commentary for more. Meanwhile, J. Matt Barber puts us all on notice that, When Karl Marx Speaks, Barack Obama Listens.
This weekend, I made the time to see a couple of new movies. The reviews for This Means War and Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance are now online. And yes, the latest and greatest Tweets of the Week are up!
February 16 Grassfire Nation has announced a short delay in the delivery of those petitions supporting the efforts by Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio. Congress is taking (another) break next week, so you've got a few extra days to sign on. See the February 13 entry below for details and links.
February 13 Don't miss our new Action Alert! Your ability to speak out continues to be threatened.
And there's more that needs your attention today: According to word received from Grassfire Nation, almost 100,000 signatures in support of Maricopa County, Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio (including mine) have been delivered to the Sheriff's office. Now it seems the DOJ is less than happy with the petitions and with the Sheriff's acknowledgment of them on his Website. They've asked him to remove the information from his Website; he has declined to do so. Now Grassfire Nation intends to deliver those petitions directly to the Department of Justice. If you haven't yet signed, now's your chance. I know I'd sure like to see some names added prior to delivery! For information and to add your signature, go to Grassfire Nation's online petition drive. Act quickly, though. The petitions are scheduled to be delivered later this week.

- dick tracey Google's privacy policy appears to be very similar to obama's transparency policy
- ResistTyranny Hi Congress, just wondering if you've grown a spine and want to stop Obama's extra-Constitutional rule?
- MensHumor The answer may not lie at the bottom of a beer bottle, but you should always check.
- ResistTyranny While Obama destroys our freedoms, GOP battles for $40 "tax cut" that de-funds Social Security.
- WETI Today's probability of annihilation by an alien space fleet: low.
Eternal vigilance is the price of liberty!
There's a lot going on in Washington and elsewhere these days, and almost none of it is good. Vigilance has never been more critical, and our failure to take actions as warranted will almost certainly never have more lasting and detrimental consequences. We are now quite literally at a crossroads in the life of this country. If we turn one direction, we can retain and restore freedom; if we turn the other, we will lose liberty, almost certainly forever. Which road will you take?
Why act? Why now?
Perhaps history has seen darker days, but in several generations, we have not. We face an activist judiciary inclined to re-interpret rather than interpret the Constitution, and so re-write law. We have a president who all too often disregards the Constitution altogether. We see the nationalization of industry and the financial sector, overregulation all too often intended to stymie growth and increase government dependence, and the socialism of healthcare (despite denials, we all know better, don't we?). We see unprecedented government growth which will almost certainly result in unprecedented tax burdens some of which are already imminent thanks to "Obamacare." And there's worse...
If I'm lucky, by what I do here I might help to preserve liberty. And if I'm not, I will at least go down fighting. I humbly ask that you join me in those endeavors. The worst thing that we could possibly do is nothing...
