We
all owe a debt of gratitude
to those who fight on our behalf. Please visit the award-winning websites
often to show your support for their efforts. As a reward to them of
your own, you may also wish to consider participating in their work
or by letting them inspire you to do some freedom fighting work of your
own.
It
is with great pleasure that
Lady Liberty introduces you to the most recent winner of "Lady
Liberty's Freedom Fighter" awards:
Garry
Reed, a freelance writer living in Texas, has put together The
Loose Cannon Libertarian both as a showcase for some of his own
writing talents as well for the purposes of offering other op-eds from
elsewhere, links to other libertarian-leaning sites, and more. With
its healthy selection of archived material, The Loose Cannon Libertarian
is an interesting place to while away a portion of your online time.

The Vietnam Experience calls itself "a website that shares
the emotional and spiritual experiences of the Vietnam War through poetry,
stories, and photos by combat veterans". Certainly it offers the
advertised features, but there's much more including a segment on women
vets; tribute pages; veteran's website links; discussion forums; and
much more. Add to all that the fact that these pages are all about some
of America's real freedom fighters, and it's a site well worth
the visit.

With its claims to inform and entertain, Right
Republic manages to do just that with an eclectic variety of content
that ranges from Art (beautiful pencil renderings, for those who are
interested) and a correspondence chess game to Editorials, News, and
Links. This nicely designed site is already of interest, but will doubtless
continue to grow in value as its content continues to expand.

When even groups
that claim to support our rights refuse to support all of them (the
ACLU comes immediately to mind), it's both refreshing and heartening
to discover an organization like the Institute
for Justice. The civil rights lawyers who comprise the Institute
focus on individual rights, including property rights and economic liberty,
and they've managed an impressive collection of victories for their
cause. That cause, of course, is liberty, and Lady Liberty is delighted
to give them some small part of the recognition they richly deserve
for their wonderful - and most helpful - online presence.

The website for the Georgia
Log Cabin Republicans offers good and current content and data,
as well as links and contact information for other interested groups
and individuals. Its efforts are understated but doubtless effective,
and its motives toward appealing to all to become politically involved
are laudable.

With a home
page headline like "Unmasking the Truth about HCI (Now the Brady
Campaign to prevent Handgun Violence)", it's got to be good! And
The Anti-HCI Site
is good as a source of factual information and helpful resources for
activists as well as pointed articles and refutations of some of the
many lies told by the "Brady Bunch".

Benjamin Franklin
regularly met with a group of like-minded individuals to discuss and
debate political matters as well as to work to subtly sway public opinion.
This group was called the Junto
Society. Now a few modern day counterparts have put together a website
with much the same mission. The site features news, commentary, action
alerts, and educational links. Most importantly, it carries on in Franklin's
tradition with its online discussion and debate groups, available for
all age levels.
