Politics for Dummies
by Ann DeLaney
One
in the series of popular "Dummies" books, "Politics
for Dummies" is the primer the activist needs to get started,
and the education any good citizen requires. In simple, easy-to-read
paragraphs, DeLaney leads the reader through explanations of various
political institutions (the campaign, the electoral college, etc.).
She describes ways to get involved in politics at all levels and, more
importantly, why one should get involved. She even lists common mistakes
made by voters and candidates alike, and includes advisories worthy
of special attention by citizens. The book is intended as a reference
- chapters are layed out in such a way that the book can be pulled off
the shelf when a specific question arises. It is also, however, interesting
and entertaining enough to read straight through at the reader's discretion.
Lady
Liberty's read:
You already know you should be getting involved. "Politics for
Dummies" will make your transition to knowledgeable voter and
good citizen almost painless.
