Bias
by
Bernard Goldberg
After
more than 20 years as a national television network reporter, Bernard
Goldberg got a phone call from a friend with a request: would he please
take a look at a report filed by a colleague and see if that report
wasn't inappropriately biased? Goldberg would, and he did. According
to Goldberg, what he saw shocked him. There was a blatant "spin"
in what was presented as news. But, he says, when he complained, he
met with denials of wrongdoing and threats to his own career. You'll
never see the TV news in the same way again after reading "Bias",
and that may be a good thing. After all, problems often aren't addressed
until enough people become aware of them. Goldberg is certainly doing
his part to inform the public. Ironically, he's doing the job of a good
- and unbiased - reporter.

Liberty's read:
There's still at least one journalist in the world who tells the story
based on the facts, and not on what he wishes the case to be.
