| "Revolutionary" Freedom Fighter - November 17, 2002 The Virginia Citizens Defense League is an organization of Second Amendment activists based in the state of Virginia. Together, the group has been instrumental in preventing many local gun control laws from being enacted, and has even seen some state regulations be repealed thanks to their efforts. While the Citizens League website is especially comprehensive where Virginia laws and issues are concerned, there's also a wealth of material of interest and use to freedom lovers in any state. Thanks to groups like the Virginia Citizens Defense League, many are freer and the rest of us can be inspired by their terrific efforts. [ back to top ] [ current winners ] [ home ] |

| "Rabble Rouser " Freedom Fighter - October 27, 2002 The ladies behind Women to Arms! say, "We can no longer pretend that men are our protectors. Those who would be can't be with us every minute of our lives, while others are the ones whom we need protection from." Accordingly, their website is a "no men allowed" resource (though they welcome and appreciate male support of their efforts) which has its focus on women concerned with freedom, arms, and the protection of women, their loved ones, and their country. The comprehensive links section alone is worth a visit! [ back to top ] [ current winners ] [ home ] |

| "Rabble Rouser" Freedom Fighter - September 26, 2002 Battle Flags, Etc. offers a wide collection of flags and banners for the freedom fighter, including the item for which its URL is named, the "come and take it" flag. If you've never heard of it, you'll see it and learn about its history here. If you have heard of it, you'll doubtless want to think about getting the appropriately updated version for your own flagpole! Along with the goodies it has for sale, Battle Flags, Etc. also provides some very informative content, including various articles and essays on the Second Amendment and other freedoms. We found our visit to be both educational and inspiring. [ back to top ] [ current winners ] [ home ] |

| "Patriot" Freedom Fighter - September 19, 2002 This wonderful site began modestly when two men decided to see if they could program a website. Today, Liberty for All offers an international audience a wide selection of editorial columns (including some from guest writers); resources including news, humor, and "liberty links"; and a listing of fraternal sites. With its timely and regular updates, you'll always be able to find something thought-provoking here. [ back to top ] [ current winners ] [ home ] |

| "Revolutionary" Freedom Fighter - September 12, 2002 Long ago, the Sons of Liberty were a group of rabblerousers who helped foment and fight the American Revolution. Today, the American Sons of Liberty are following in that grand freedom fighting tradition by offering a website filled with informative content including sections for activism, on gun rights, and filled with both articles and commentary. Lady Liberty considers the American Sons of Liberty to be her brothers (and sisters) in arms in the ongoing battle for liberty, and she hopes her visitors will also feel right at home at this week's award winning site. | "Revolutionary" Freedom Fighter - September 3, 2002 Two ordinary Americans, just like most of us, found themselves deeply affected by the 9/11 terrorist attacks. Again much like many of us, they wanted to create some sort of a small tribute to all of those who lost or risked their lives on that terrible day. And so the America pages of this couple's website were created. What they didn't know then was how the site would expand. And now, separating themselves from the majority of those who would create small tribute sites, these tribute pages grew to encompass everything from photos to poetry, from downloadable patriotic graphics to firsthand accounts of the devastation of that day, to excerpts from news accounts and historic speeches, to follow-up stories. Lady Liberty was moved by her visit to these pages, but found herself uplifted as well. She believes you'll experience the same when you visit this extraordinary personal tribute site. NOTE: The download time for the home page is lengthy without a high speed connection, but the audio files that cause the slowdown are an incomparable addition to these moving pages. | "Patriot" Freedom Fighter - August 28, 2002 Presently a relatively small organization, the Free State Project has big ideas and the noblest of goals: members want to see liberty - as defined by the US Constitution and Bill of Rights - fully restored in at least one state in the US. The group's website provides information about the group, its mission, and its plans. Each and every one of us is encouraged to participate in the project. Doing so will result in the ulimate reward of freedom. NOTE: Lady Liberty is a member of the Free State Project. She hopes that many of you will consider membership as well. | "Revolutionary" Freedom Fighter - August 8, 2002 Homeland Security is the kind of satirical site a Freedom Fighter will truly appreciate. Not only does it provide terrific graphics - many in the instantly recognizable style of Nazi propaganda - it offers those graphics for download at no charge so that you can make your own flyers or posters. With tongue firmly in cheek, Homeland Security offers posters that recruit children as terrorist spies and ask "Got Liberty?" The site also has a list of helpful links as well as suggestions as to how to get involved in the effort to spread the word and restore our liberties. The only unfortunate thing about this website is that it has so much these days to satirize. [ back to top ] [ current winners ] [ home ] |

| "Revolutionary" Freedom Fighter - July 31, 2002 Thomas J. Jackson's brilliant battle campaign in the Shenendoah Valley during the spring and summer of 1862 has inspired the admiration of many, including the Russian national who created the Stonewall in the Valley website. The site design and graphics lend an added impression of the era, and the use of the English language is almost flawless. In his application for an award, the webmaster pointed out that Stonewall Jackson was himself "a freedom fighter and a champion of his cause". Lady Liberty agrees.
