one of the most appalling stories she can recall. The only good news
here is that those cops are going to pay for what they did. If the
lesson here proves cautionary to other cops, so much the better.

We'd better hope that the Supreme Court agrees with the California
court that overturned the conviction of the man at the heart of this
case. If not, it essentially means we give up our Fourth Amendment
protections everytime we're not behind the wheel. She doesn't for
a minute believe that that's reasonable — or constitutional.

should stop surveilling everybody and concentrate only on

Basically, in addition to being needlessly invasive, susceptible to
deliberately (or accidentally) bad programming, and potentially a
greater danger than a safety measure, the cameras are also not entirely
